Shakuntala #3
I want my art to be seen as a celebration. I want my viewers to experience the reflection of the cultural diversity of India through the colors and imagery. This series is an homage to folk art of India and Hindu mythology, reminiscent of the innumerable stories I read as a child and my exposure to traditional art forms while growing up. The splashed use of color, amidst the powerful black and white illustrations puts emphazises on the iconic strong women from the intricate colorful background.
